The Office of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in fulfilling its statutory mandate is in the business of investigating and resolving complaints of administrative injustice in an impartial, ethical and expeditious manner; Educating the Public on their rights and responsibilities and; Advocating improvements in the quality and standards of service delivery in the Public Sector of Trinidad and Tobago.



  • Strengthen the independence of the Office.
  • Achieve a high level of public awareness of the existence and function of the Office.
  • Continue to earn the respect and cooperation of public sector agencies within remit.
  • Contribute to the improvement of the standard of public administration in Trinidad and Tobago by providing high quality investigations and feedback to public sector agencies/departments.
  • Provide access for all members of the public to an independent means of complaint resolution.
